TWELVE. DAYS. TO. GO.
My focus at the moment is my upcoming trip to Ecuador and the Galapagos Islands; it is less than a fortnight until I arrive in Quito and I still can't get my head around the concept that I'm going to be in SOUTH AMERICA. Whilst I've travelled extensively within Europe, I have yet to venture outside it...and I'm expecting a bit of shock, to say the least.
To go from Hertfordshire, England to Coca in the Amazon is going to be a lot to take in for me but everyone assures me I will come back a "new person" with "expanded horizons" etc. I really hope this is the case and I would love for any experienced travellers to comment on this post and share any tips they might have for me for any aspect of the trip.
At any rate, I will endeavour to post as much as I can leading up to my departure about my preparations, expectations and the country itself! If nothing else, I'm hoping it will sustain my spirit of adventure.
I was very excited to come across a whole site dedicated to travel blogs, which contained over 7000 blogs for Ecuador alone! I'm not sure why I didn't think of this before but I would certainly recommend to anyone about to embark on a trip abroad, regardless of the destination, to check out this site.
